Thanksgiving is coming up! What does this mean for you!

For the adults, Thanksgiving isn't fun and games! Many have to get up extremely early and put the bird in the oven and cook even more stuff for the upcoming dinner! Which by the way guys, if your parents are hosting a dinner this year, be thankful they are cooking that turkey! And be lucky that you even have that dinner!
But anyways, so many kids ask how they could contribute and help their family out this Thanksgiving! Here are some tips to help you!

1. Help them cook!
This one is pretty obvious! Simply ask your mom or dad or grandparent or whoever, "Is there anything I can do?", or, "Can I help cook or can you teach me how to fix something?". Something like that would be appreciative for your family. Plus it gives you a sense of accomplishment for helping cooking the turkey or some other dish!

2. Help move stuff!
Every year, when my parents host a dinner, we have to move my dog's playpen in the kitchen to our porch! This way, our guests will have more room to get the food they want and the drink they want without the dog harassing them! If your parents have to move something like a playpen, furniture, or something as simple as... a cooler! Help them out, a "I got it!" really makes your folks happy!

3. Help your elderly members around!
This one is a biggie! Many elderly members can't walk around like they used to, or get up, or sit down. A perfect situation is when the old folks are arriving or leaving your house. Open the car door, and help them out and walk them to the house! It would be really appreciative for them as well as yourself!

4. Help bring dishes in the house!
When family members are arriving with food, dishes, plates, drinks, etc. Help out and take the more heavy stuff! It's not as tedious as you think! People love it when someone younger helps bring in the food plus it makes less trips to the car!

5. Help wash dishes and clean around the house after the dinner!
Yes, it's not on your top 10. But helping clean makes less time cleaning the house and getting everyone to leave! It sounds weird, but I know my parents are extremely tired after the dinner and they are ready for everybody to go! Or if you don't like washing dishes, suggest to your parents or whoever is hosting the party to use paper plates, plastic cups, and paper trays so there's no mess to clean up after! Plus you simply throw it in the trash and throw it out. No need to clean! Another one, is help wash the tables before and after the dinner! Sweep the floors, clean the windows, dust the house, and everything else in between! If it looks dirty, clean it! Parents love this stuff!

Well I'm sure I'm stating the obvious but these little things will surely makes your folks really proud of you!
