My Picks for the 2010 MTV VMA's!
It's that time again, folks! The VMA Madness will begin September 12, that's in about 2 weeks! Wonder what will happen this year? Hmm... Anyways, since I love to watch the VMAs each year, I decided I would pick out one of the nominees for each category of which I want to win!
Best Video of the Year Nominees:
30 Seconds to Mars — "Kings and Queens"
B.o.B (featuring Hayley Williams) — "Airplanes"
Eminem — "Not Afraid"
Florence and the Machine — "Dog Days Are Over"
Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance"
Lady Gaga (featuring Beyoncé) — "Telephone"
My Pick: Lady Gaga feat. Beyonce - "Telephone"
Reason why: Because it was, in my opinion, one of the most anticipated videos of the year! And let's admit it was great! Lady Gaga should win the Moonman for this one!
Best Male Video:
B.o.B (featuring Hayley Williams) — "Airplanes"
Jason Derülo — "In My Head"
Drake — "Find Your Love"
Eminem — "Not Afraid"
Usher (featuring will.i.am) — "OMG"
My Pick: Well personally, I don't really like B.o.B much but I loved Jason Derulo's song "In My Head" and "OMG". I'm gonna have the go with the Michael Jackson wannabe Jason Derulo! He's awesome and his song is great. But I know for a fact that "Airplanes" will take it. But, I personally hated the song! I just don't like rap a lot!
Best Female Video
Beyoncé (featuring Lady Gaga) — "Video Phone (Extended Remix)"
Kesha — "Tik Tok"
Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance"
Katy Perry (featuring Snoop Dogg) — "California Gurls"
Taylor Swift — "Fifteen"
My pick: You and me both know who will win this one! It'll be either Katy or Gaga. And in my opinion, Katy should take the Moonman, this go round! Trust me Gaga you have plenty of blanks to fill this year! "Gurls" was spunky, original, and different. What we thought would show sexy people at Venice Beach turned out to be a cool and sweet (no pun intended) video that looked a lot like the board game, "CandyLand" that I played with when I was four! In a good way! Katy is the ultimate kid at heart!
Best New Artist
Justin Bieber (featuring Ludacris) — "Baby"
Broken Bells — "The Ghost Inside"
Jason Derülo — "In My Head"
Kesha — "Tik Tok"
Nicki Minaj (featuring Sean Garrett) — "Massive Attack"
My pick: Yes I know, Justin will take this Moonman, mark my words! But I seriously enjoyed Kesha's music video. Sorry Mr. BeerBeer, "The Cashew" should take this one!
Best Pop Video
Beyoncé (featuring Lady Gaga) — "Video Phone (Extended Remix)"
B.o.B (featuring Bruno Mars) — "Nothin' on You"
Kesha — "Tik Tok"
Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance"
Katy Perry (featuring Snoop Dogg) — "California Gurls"
My pick: WOW! There's a lot of good one's here. The 3 leading ladies of Pop are in a battle to win "Best Pop Video". Kesha's video was nothing compared to Katy's video. And Gaga's was "iconic" I guess you could say. I think Bad Romance should get this one. After all, it's the most viewed video on YouTube right now!
Sorry folks but I don't listen to Rock or Hip-hop so I'm skipping them onto Best Dance Video!
Best Dance Video
Cascada — "Evacuate the Dancefloor"
David Guetta (featuring Akon) — "Sexy Chick"
Enrique Iglesias (featuring Pitbull) — "I Like It" (Jersey Shore Version)
Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance"
Usher (featuring will.i.am) — "OMG"
My pick: I know Lady Gaga will get this one. But, I think there's should be a little more variety than just Gaga! Cascada's "Dancefloor" was very catchy, cool, and hip! However, Gaga showed her dancing skills in "Romance"... so I think Gaga will also get this one as well.
Best Collaboration
3OH!3 (featuring Ke$ha) — "My First Kiss"
Beyoncé (featuring Lady Gaga) — "Video Phone (Extended Remix)"
B.o.B (featuring Hayley Williams) — "Airplanes"
Jay-Z and Alicia Keys — "Empire State of Mind"
Lady Gaga (featuring Beyoncé) — "Telephone"
My pick: Lady Gaga once again! This girl is on the roll with the nominations! Telephone was a great collaboration with Beyonce! I couldn't help but laugh when Beyonce says in the video, "You've been a very very bad girl, Gaga!"
Skipping Breakthrough Video - Have no idea who these people are!
Best Direction in a Video
30 Seconds to Mars — "Kings and Queens" (Director: Bartholomew Cubbins)
Eminem — "Not Afraid" (Director: Rich Lee)
Jay-Z and Alicia Keys — "Empire State of Mind" (Director: Hype Williams)
Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance" (Director: Francis Lawrence)
Pink — "Funhouse" (Director: Dave Meyers)
My pick:
I don't even have to say it and you probably who I'M going to pick!
Best Choreography in a Video
Beyoncé (featuring Lady Gaga) — "Video Phone (Extended Remix)" (Choreographers: Frank Gatson Jr., Phlex and Bryan Tanaka)
Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance" (Choreographer: Laurie Ann Gibson)
Lady Gaga (featuring Beyoncé) — "Telephone" (Choreographer: Laurie Ann Gibson)
Janelle Monáe (featuring Big Boi) — "Tightrope" (Choreographers: Janelle Monáe and the Memphis Jookin Community)
Usher (featuring will.i.am) — "OMG" (Choreographer: Aakomon “AJ” Jones)
My pick:
Definitely, Telephone. If you've seen the dancing and the video in general, you know why I pick this one!
Best Special Effects in a Video
Dan Black — "Symphonies" (Special Effects: Corinne Bance and Axel D’Harcourt)
Eminem — "Not Afraid" (Special Effects: Animaholics-VFX)
Green Day — "21st Century Breakdown" (Special Effects: Laundry)
Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance" (Special Effects: Skulley Effects VFX)
Muse — "Uprising" (Special Effects: Sam Stevens)
My pick: I'm telling you it's GAGA!
Best Art Direction in a Video
30 Seconds to Mars — "Kings and Queens" (Art Director: Marc Benacerraf)
Beyoncé (featuring Lady Gaga) — "Video Phone (Extended Remix)" (Art Director: Lenny Tso)
Eminem — "Not Afraid" (Art Director: Ethan Tobman)
Florence and the Machine — "Dog Days Are Over" (Art Directors: Louise Corcoran and Aldene Johnson)
Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance" (Art Director: Charles Infante)
My pick: Same here!
Best Editing in a Video
Eminem — "Not Afraid" (Editor: Ken Mowe)
Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance" (Editor: Jarrett Fijal)
Miike Snow — "Animal" (Editor: Frank Macias)
Pink — "Funhouse" (Editor: Chris Davis)
Rihanna — "Rude Boy" (Editor: Clark Eddy)
My pick: FINALLY! I won't pick Gaga this time! I think Rihanna should get this one, the video was very cool and had LOTS of FX (this one should be nominated for best SFX)!
Best Cinematography in a Video
Eminem — "Not Afraid" (Director of Photography: Chris Probst)
Florence and the Machine — "Dog Days Are Over" (Director of Photography: Adam Frisch)
Jay-Z and Alicia Keys — "Empire State of Mind" (Director of Photography: John Perez)
Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance" (Director of Photography: Thomas Kloss)
Mumford & Sons — "Little Lion Man" (Director of Photography: Ben Magahy)
My pick: Empire State of Mind, even though I hate the song, it did have some great shots of Brooklyn and Manhattan!
Tr3́s Latino Artist of the Year
Aventura
Camila
Daddy Yankee
Pitbull
Shakira
Wisin & Yandel
My pick: Daddy Yankee all the way! I love his music! But I know it'll either be Pitbull or Shakira (ugh! I hate her)
Tune in for the VMA's on Sunday September 12 at 9pm EST/8pm CST on MTV!

My Two Cents on Miley's Latest Movie, "The Last Song".
This week, the buzz was all over the release of "The Last Song" being released to DVD and Bluray! A lot of people said it was a great movie but a lot of people said Miley's acting was very "amateur". So there were a lot of mixed signals. And being a movie buff, I don't care I just rent it and if I like it a lot, I'll buy it! Plus, knowing that ALL of Nicholas Sparks' books that were turned into movies are usually very good. Now I'm not the type that will watch a ton of chick flicks. But by no means is this a chick flick, in my opinion. It's coming of age, and personally is great for the whole family, as it shows ups and down of a teen relationship and the death of *someone* (coughs). I don't like chick flicks that much, but being that I'm a fan of Miley Cyrus' work, I made an exception.
Now anyway, I have to say the movie had a great beginning, middle, and end. It wasn't sappy either and wasn't too "soapy", if you know what I mean. Typically, when you watch a chick flick or a romantic drama, you usually get elements of soap operas. "The Last Song" kinda bends the rules, as well as most of Sparks' novels. So don't expect no sex scenes, pervs!
The movie's background is basically this:
17 year old, Ronnie (that's Miley) and her younger brother are taken to their dad's place at beautiful Tybee Island, Georgia (the book was set in Coastal NC, the producers wanted it to be shot in NC but decided Georgia would be the setting of the movie). Years before, their parents divorced, so this explains why Ronnie acts hateful and hostile towards other in the beginning of the movie. But as time goes by, Ronnie meets Will, a rich boy that plays volleyball on the beach and they soon fall in love.
That's all I'll give you about the movie, but I can tell you there is a twist (*coughs* death) but I won't say who. You have to watch the movie to find out.
Despite the negative reviews, on a scale of one to ten, I give this movie a 9! It's a perfect love story and Miley does an excellent job! She cries, smiles, gets angry and you can actually feel her pain! As well as the other cast members. Liam Hemsworth who plays Ronnie's love interest, Will, does a great job as well for a newcomer. In my opinion, the whole cast is perfect, the setting is perfect, the plot is perfect. Everything is perfect! Males and females alike will love this movie. It's a perfect date night movie!
My score: 9 out of 10
Rent it or buy it: BUY!
^
This means if the movie is OK, it's best to rent it but if it is great, BUY!

Check out Kesha's Sexy New Video, "Take It Off"
Kesha loves to "Take it Off" in her latest music video. OK not really, I was hoping so but it only shows her chest but she still looks pretty H-O-T hot in it, might I say! Of course Kesha is going to make a juicy, sexy video, hello she is the Drunkest Lush in America! No offense, but this girl is a drunk and a hard core partier... but that's cool... we need drunks who can sing more than 2 words without going off-key in this world. Heck, she can even sing while digging in the desert and having a weird food color food fight! At least that's what this auto-tuned babe was doing this time in this vid! But anyways, the vid was released about a week ago! If you wanna watch it, well today is your lucky day because it's right underneath this post. Happy watching!
Reaction to Beavis and Butthead returning to MTV in 2011!
Well my thoughts on this... My prayers have been answered. If you read a tweet I made a couple of days ago on Twitter, you knew how I excited I was. And I just heard the news just last week... and this news has been out for about 3 weeks or so... so I know I'm a bit late but I just had to make a post about it. Beavis and Butthead was more than likely the only thing on MTV that wasn't all about music videos (but they did make fun of current videos which was hilarious!) that is worth watching. Yes, I mildly enjoy watching Jersey Shore every week but honestly, it's not that good, it's pretty good, but ... yea! My thoughts on this is also, maybe MTV is actually listening to the viewers. Maybe America is tired of Laguna Beach, The Real World, and Made and whatever. Instead, people want MTV to go back to the basics when the channel was created way back in 1981. Back then, all you had was videos. Some were pretty cool, and some weren't so good. But, the channel was AWESOME! You could actually see what the singers looked like, some looked pretty hot, some looked NOT, and some of them made you think, are they gay? And music videos even incorporated dance moves and even incorporated a storyline to them so you could really get what they were saying in the song. But if you've seen Lady Gaga's music videos, you'd probably wonder... huh? Some of the many greats had some really cool videos. The one's that come to the top of my head are, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Britney Spears, and a whole heap of others. So maybe bringing Beavis and Butthead back is really a blessing for MTV and for the viewers as well. And so now that BnB is back... now we need more videos in the daytime and primetime! But all I have to say to MTV is... Thank you! There isn't an approximate date when Beavis and Butthead will be on the air but... MTV has announced that it is sometime in early 2011! We will give you the date when the word has come out... until then, you can watch some reruns online and go "I can't wait!". By the way, here is a couple of clips. And you better watch them, BUTTMUNCH! Enjoy!
Maybe they could possibly do some of these not just for Rihanna but for possibly Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus or Kesha

Carol Burnett is getting "Glee"ked this fall!
Carol Burnett, star of long time variety show of the 60's and the 70's, "The Carol Burnett Show" and recurring role on the hit 80's show, "Mama's Family" has landed a role on Fox's hit teen-dramedy-musical show, "Glee". She will be playing the role of Sue Sylvester's (Jane Lynch) mother. Glee has attracted millions of viewers and is Fox's 2nd TV show with the most viewers, 1st being "American Idol" and 3rd being "The Simpsons". Glee has been known to recreate some of the best pop music out there, including Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" and even recreated Madonna's 1990 single, "Vogue". This is my new favorite show and I hope that Carol Burnett's role on Glee is a success! Do you think Carol Burnett will bring in more viewers of different age groups?
