We haven't been around for quite some time, since September to be exact. School, family and friends have distracted us from finding details on information and I have simply lost interest in pop culture in general. So this is goodbye everyone! This was a great 2 years for Pop Expedition with over 8,000 views on our blog posts! So thank you, from the bottom of our hearts (As in me and Kat) for giving us support and the attention our articles and blogposts deserved.
Please don't hesitate to continue to check out my latest solo blog called Alt Rock Sound World featuring album reviews on new and old alternative rock albums as well as editorials on alternative rock, punk rock, grunge and other subgenres of alt rock!
Check it out here!
I also will have a conjoining Twitter and YouTube with the blog as well!
Follow/Subscribe to both and I should be recording video album reviews and synopsis' of artists up and coming as well as classic favorites!

Vlog Coming This Week on YouTube!
Pop Expedition lives on guys! This week, we'll be hosting a 20 minute long YouTube vlog, that is in the same fashion as Pop Expedition! Kat, via telephone and later on, Skype, will be joining me and discussing topics with me! We'll also hopefully have special guests joining us and with enough momentum and followers, we'll have help from our viewers via Facebook and Twitter as well as through our YouTube followers. About once or twice every month we'll try Ustream out to broadcast a 60-90 minute long vlog, live! Usually we'll have a Vlog out between Wednesdays and Sundays. We'll try our best to upload every week, but due to school and other things going on, we may not upload every single week!
Click HERE to go to our YouTube page!
Don't forget to subscribe to us as well as Kat's YouTube, so you'll be updated when we have a video uploaded!

Kim Kardashian SUES Old Navy over a LOOKALIKE!
Looks like the money hungry ho is at it again! This time a lawsuit! The million dollar heiress who's father was OJ Simpson's lawyer in the 90's is now suing Gap Inc. aka Old Navy over TV ads that showed a girl that looks like a spitting image of Kim herself. According to TMZ, she hopes to recover $20 Million dollars (with an "M") from Gap Inc. for using Melissa Molinaro as her "stand-in". And her attorney Gary Hecker said in a statement
“Kim Kardashian is immediately recognizable, and is known for her look and style. Her identity and persona are valuable. When her intellectual property rights are violated, she intends to enforce them.”Melissa backfired by tweeting
"Were still talking about this?! Its JULY this aired in February...some people have too much time on there hands."But seriously, Kardashian's got LOTS of inheritance, famous for God knows what, and has her own TV show on E!. As if that's not enough, she has her own perfume line, co owner of a fashion boutique, and works as a model for numerous companies. Don't seem like she's satisfied with what she's got. Now if that doesn't sound like greed, I don't know what is.
Check out the commercial and see for yourself!

Axed ABC Soaps Live On!
All soap fans out there as well as myself can rejoyce. As a faithful and loyal soap fan, I am pleased to hear this news and that things are looking up for a change in the soap world! Cancelled ABC soaps, "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" will breathe new life after their television cancellation dates. After their television cancellation date, the shows will be online exclusive shows that will only be accessed to those who have access to the internet. For the younger and computer literate generations this will be a breeze to watch. However non computer users may find it a challenge to watch this show on the web. No word as to which characters will be reprising their roles, respectively. This past April, the news was announced that "All My Children" would end it's 40 year run in September 2011 and "One Life to Live" would end it's 40+ year run in January 2012. Many fans were outraged by the news, even going as far as protests at ABC Studios, Hoover removing their ads on ABC stations, and petitions all across the country. Fans pleaded for their shows to stay on the air. As most know, the soap opera genre, that was once a money making business, is obviously dying. In the past 2 years, long running soaps, "Guiding Light" and "As the World Turns", have been cancelled due to low ratings and not enough funds to support the show. Even "General Hospital", a soap opera with a high reputation in the past, has been rumored that it may not continue to air after 2012, after ABC plans to air a Katie Couric talk show on their daytime lineup (no word on if and when this show will happen). AMC and OLTL will be replaced by healthy living talk shows, "The Chew" and "The Revolution".

New York Passes Same Sex Marriage Laws Today!
Today, a bill was passed today that would allow gay and lesbian couples to be legally married in the state of New York. Many citizens were excited of the news and others... not so much! New York is one of 6 states to pass a same sex marriage law in the US. New York is also the largest state to pass this law. New York also has a large gay community including bars, groups, underground nightclubs and much more. Many states are trying to pass this law but many states are rejecting this law due to religious beliefs and personal preference. What do you think of the new law?

New Tech Alert! Virgin Mobile to pick up the Motorola Triumph!
Big news to frugals and tech geeks out there! Virgin Mobile is yet again paving the way for new Android phones! Introducing the Motorola Triumph. An Android phone that looks a lot like a Droid X (the same maker of the Triumph, might I add), minus the QWERTY keyboard. And this one sure does blow the other prepaid Android devices out the water! The Triumph packs in a punch according to Motorola's website and its loaded with Facebook widgets, stock Android software (rest assured Motorola users, Motoblur is NOT going to be on this device), a 5 megapixel camera on the back AND, get this, a VGA camera on the front for Skype and self portraits, AND HDMI out! Which is A LOT for a prepaid phone. Usually prepaid carriers don't have the nice bells and whistles as contract phones and most prepaid phones, let's be honest, are a piece of crap. But on paper, the Motorola Triumph breaks the barrier of piece of crap and finally gives us money savers out there, a deal of the decade! As of now, there is no price range for this phone but I've got a good feeling judging from the price of the LG Optimus V and Samsung Intercept (2 previous Android devices on Virgin), this phone will probably be ranging from $200-$300 at launch. Now I do know that the phone will be released July 19th. Perfect timing for back to school time and those who are college bound this coming school year!
UPDATE: I just got word that the Motorola Triumph is now on preorder at Best Buy for $299.

Meet Kathy Beth Terry!
You probably don't know her now, but you definitely will in about a week or so. Meet Kathy Beth Terry, the alter ego of Katy Perry. A nerdy girl from the late 80's and early 90's who swoons over Jonathan Taylor Thomas (of Home Improvement and Lion King fame) and Hanson. And enjoys doing Sudoku puzzles, and hopping on a Skip-it (sounds like the awesomeness of the 90's to me!). So why does Katy Perry need a "alter ego"? Why to promote her new video of course! Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) is Katy's (ahem Kathy's) latest single that is hitting the radio stations and, from the looks of it, a potential summer jam (If it is, this makes it Katy's 3RD summer hit, the other 2 being "I Kissed A Girl" and "California Gurls") The video will feature the nerdy yet adorable Kathy Beth Terry along with a cameo featuring another Friday star, Rebecca Black, who plays a rich popular girl that lives next door to Kathy who is throwing a party at her house where the video takes place. Another cameo appearance is in order with Kevin McHale, best known for his role as the wheelchair bound Artie on "Glee". The video is set to premiere this Tuesday, June 14th at 12:01PM Eastern Time on funnyordie.com
Check out the teaser at the bottom:
